What others say ...
Another award winning beer (Monde Selection) from Yamaguchi Narutaki Kogen Brewery. This one is their Weizen (White/Wheat) style beer.
It's slightly cloudy on the pour with a pale, weak straw colour. It has a pure white frothy head and there are oranges and spices on the nose.
On the palate, it's fresh and bitter with a slight taste of orange, but not overpowering.
Quite subtly flavoured overall, not too spicy or corianderish which some wheat beers can be. The finish is fairly short. Overall a pretty good white beer.

'Popeye' Craft Beer Bar - Tokyo
Probably the most famous and well liked Japanese craft beer bar in Japan (and definitely the first) is 'Popeye' in Tokyo (near Asakusa), headed by Aoki san.
There are over 70 beers on tap. Aoki san has many sayings, one of them "100 different beers, 100 different ways to pour".
Yamaguchi beer has a long association with Aoki san and Popeye and the team at Yamaguchi has been mentored by them over the years even producing special batches for them. It has been said that it is a perfect marriage as the brewers at Yamaguchi are very quiet, reserved, contemplative and meek whilst their Tokyo brothers are outgoing, opinionated and ready to speak their mind about what a beer should and shouldn't be.
So ability to listen and receive working together with generosity and willingness to impart wisdom and learning wroks well in this setting.
